- American Iris Society
Founded in 1927, The American Iris Society exists for the sole purpose of promoting the culture and
improvement of the iris. This site has an extensive listing of iris related links.

The American Iris Society Foundation
The American Iris Society Foundation (AISF) was established in 1971 to encourage
interest, knowledge and scientific research about irises.

Aril Society International.
The Aril Society International (see below) is a cooperating society of the A.I.S.

The CIS is a
non-profit organization with the objective to encourage, improve and extend the cultivation of the genus iris and to
collaborate with other societies for this purpose.

is a non-profit public benefit corporation organized to promote interest in the growing, studying and development of
Miniature Dwarf Bearded irises. The Dwarf Iris Society was founded in 1950 and incorporated as a section of the A.I.S. in
1980.

Iris Society is open to all who wish to study and/or appreciate the flower, Iris. We neet on the second Saturday,
4 to 7 times per year.

- King County Iris Society
The King County Iris Society is a group of active gardeners growing many kinds of irises who meet monthly
(except in the summer), and have flower shows and plant sales.

The Society for Louisiana Irises was founded in 1941. In 1978 a section of the A.I.S. called the Louisiana Iris Society of
America was created for furthering Louisiana Irises. In 1993 the two were merged as the Society for Louisiana Irises to
become a cooperating society of the A.I.S. It publishes the Society for Louisiana Irises Newsletter quarterly.

Society for Japanese Irises.
The Society for Japanese Irises was founded as a section of the A.I.S. in 1962. It has published The Review semiannually
since 1964.

Median Iris Society.
Medians consist of the middle sized bearded irises, and these are classified into four sizes: Standard Dwarf, Intermediate,
Miniature Tall, and Border. The Median Iris Society was founded in 1957 and incorporated as a section of the A.I.S.
in 1960. It has published a quarterly journal, The Medianite, since 1962.

The Reblooming Iris Society was founded in 1962 and incorporated as a section of the A.I.S. in 1967.
