I have been growing LAs for just 3 years. So I don't really have a favorite cultivar, yet. Although I really like Iris fulva. I started hybridizing LAs last year and hope to eventually introduce something. I grow bearded irises, and lots of other beardless irises too. I hybridize nearly everything I can. I love photography and take lots of pictures of my garden when it's in bloom. Aside from non-iris flowers, I really like native wildflowers, and have nearly 100 different kinds now... including some unusual ones like a cactus. My best iris growing tip is to chop back the iris foliage NOW (early October) to prevent iris borer moth from laying eggs on your irises. I did this last year and had zero borers this year.
